Associates Intro
What are AKRI associates?
Individual members of AKRI are called "Associates" and are at the heart of our educational mission. Individually and collectively, they advance the study and understanding of group relations from an infinite variety of disciplines and professional paths--some are involved in group relations within an academic context, others use these tools as they engage groups in therapeutic work or consulting practices, and still others merely have discovered the value of group relations within a personal or professional context, such as a corporate or non-profit environment.
What links us across the global AKRI community is our interest in learning how groups affect us, how we participate in them, and how we can make our experiences richer, more effective or more meaningful in all of the ways that we experience groups in our lives.
The membership requirement to become an Associate is to have participated in a residential conference organized by AKRI or one of its affiliates.
How can associates get more involved?
- Create or contribute to an AKRI publication
- Volunteer for a committee or program (Synposium, Publications, Training & Certification, Nominations, Fellows)
- Support your local AKRI affiliate
- Be a speaker, presenter or attendee at the AKRI Symposium
- Serve as director or staff for an AKRI event (Leadership Institute, Training events)
- Run for election to the AKRI board
